      • You cannot calculate FSC on top of another FSC — use a Premium instead
      • FSCAUTO and FSCPREM are the auto-assigned charge codes from schedules

      Common Questions

Do I need prior Transplus experience to enroll?
No prior Transplus experience is needed. Session 1 starts from the very beginning with system setup and data entry. Each session builds logically on the previous one.
Can I book individual sessions or do I need the full program?
You can book individual sessions at $199 each, or enroll in the full 12-session program for $999 — saving $394. Team training packages are available with custom pricing.
Are sessions conducted online or in person?
Sessions are conducted online via video conferencing. Camera use is required. We recommend a quiet workspace to get the most out of each session.
Will I receive a certificate after completing the program?
Yes. Upon completing the full 12-session program, you'll receive a Masuta Consultancy Services certificate of completion to add to your LinkedIn profile and resume.
Do I need access to Transplus software before starting?
Access to Transplus Fleet Manager is required for hands-on training. We can advise you on obtaining a training or trial environment before your first session.
Which version of Transplus do you teach?
We train on the current version of Transplus Fleet Manager used by most Ontario carriers. The core workflows — order entry, dispatch, trip processing, invoicing — are consistent across versions. If your company uses a specific version, let us know and we will tailor the sessions accordingly.
Do I need a Transplus license to take the training?
You need access to a Transplus environment — either your company's existing system or a training/demo environment. We can guide you on how to request a training environment from Transplus directly before your first session.
How long is each training session?
Each session runs approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours depending on the topic complexity and your pace. Sessions are designed to be thorough but focused — covering one major module of Transplus per session with hands-on practice built in.
Can I take sessions in Punjabi?
Yes! Sessions can be conducted in Punjabi upon request. Many of our students from the Brampton, Mississauga and Milton area prefer training in Punjabi for a more comfortable learning experience. Just let us know when booking.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Full refunds are available for cancellations made more than 48 hours before a scheduled session. Cancellations within 48 hours may forfeit the session fee. For the full 12-session program, a prorated refund is available for unused sessions. Please contact us at [email protected] to request a refund.
Is there homework or practice between sessions?
Yes — each session comes with a pre-session checklist and post-session key takeaways guide. We strongly recommend practicing the session content in Transplus between sessions to reinforce your learning. Students who practice between sessions progress significantly faster.
Can my company pay for the training?
Absolutely. Many students have their employer cover the training cost as professional development. We can provide an official invoice for your company's records. Contact us at [email protected] and we will send you the necessary documentation.
How quickly can I get hired after completing the program?
95% of our students who actively apply report landing a dispatch role within 30-60 days of completing the full program. Results vary based on your prior experience, resume quality, and how aggressively you apply. We also provide guidance on resume tips and which Ontario carriers are actively hiring.
Do you offer group or team discounts?
Yes — corporate and team packages are available at significantly discounted rates. Our team packages start at $1,499 for up to 3 staff members and $2,499 for up to 8. For larger teams, contact us for a custom quote. Visit our Corporate Training page for full details.
What equipment do I need for the sessions?
You need a computer (not a phone or tablet) with access to Transplus Fleet Manager, a working camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and a quiet workspace. We conduct sessions via video conferencing. A dual-monitor setup is helpful but not required.

      👤 About You Always Asked
Tell me about yourself and why you want to be a dispatcher.
      Model Answer

I am a logistics professional with hands-on Transplus Fleet Manager training from Masuta Consultancy Services in Milton, Ontario. I completed the full 12-session program covering system setup, dispatch, cross-border ACE/ACI, payroll and invoicing. I am drawn to dispatch because I thrive in fast-paced environments where decisions are immediate and every load matters.

💡 Tip: Mention your Transplus certificate in the first 30 seconds. Most candidates cannot — it immediately sets you apart.

Are you comfortable working nights and weekends?
      Model Answer

Absolutely. Afterhours dispatch is actually one of my target roles. Freight does not stop at 5pm and I understand that overnight decisions are some of the most critical in any operation. I work well independently and stay calm under pressure — exactly what nights require.

💡 Tip: Night shift roles pay 10-15% more and are far easier to land. Say yes confidently.

      💻 Transplus Technical Always Asked
Have you used Transplus Fleet Manager?
      Model Answer

Yes — I completed a formal 12-session Transplus Fleet Manager program. I am trained in system defaults, data maintenance, order entry, Fleet Manager dispatching, fuel imports, trip processing, driver payroll, invoice rendition and ACE/ACI cross-border filing. I have my completion certificate and I am ready to work in the system from day one.

💡 Tip: Name specific modules — "Invoice Rendition", "Trip Processing" — not just "I used Transplus." Specifics prove real training.

What is the difference between an Order and a Probill?
      Model Answer

An Order is the billing document used to invoice the customer. A Probill is a specific leg within that order — a pickup or delivery movement. One Order can have multiple Probills for multi-stop loads. You process at the Probill level but invoice at the Order level.

💡 Tip: This question immediately separates genuinely trained candidates from resume padders. Your answer will impress.

Walk me through creating a new order in Transplus.
      Model Answer

I open the Order screen, create a new Order for the customer and add the Probill with pickup and delivery locations — ensuring both are geocoded. I enter freight details: commodity, weight, pieces, and any accessorials. I assign to the dispatch board, select driver and equipment, create trip events, then monitor in Fleet Manager and update statuses as the driver checks in.

💡 Tip: Mentioning geocoding and trip events shows deep system knowledge. Most candidates only say "I create the order."

      🚨 Situational Scenario Based
A driver breaks down at 2am three hours from delivery. What do you do?
      Model Answer

Get the exact location. Contact roadside assistance immediately. Check for a nearby relay driver. Call the customer proactively with an updated ETA — never let them find out on their own. Document everything in Transplus and notify my supervisor. Stay in contact with both the driver and customer until resolved.

💡 Tip: Show: calm thinking, proactive customer communication, documentation, escalation. Hit all four and you will impress any hiring manager.

A customer calls angry about a late delivery. How do you handle it?
      Model Answer

Listen fully without interrupting. Acknowledge: "I completely understand and I am sorry this happened." Pull up the load in Transplus immediately. Give a specific ETA — not "soon." Explain briefly what happened. Confirm my direct contact for updates. Follow up after delivery. Never blame the driver.

💡 Tip: Never make excuses. Take ownership, give specifics, follow through. That is what separates good dispatchers from great ones.

💰 Salary & Closing End of Interview
What salary are you looking for?
      Model Answer

Based on my Transplus training and current Ontario market rates, I am looking for $52,000–$62,000 for day shift, or $60,000–$72,000 for afterhours and night shift. I am flexible depending on the full package and growth opportunities — I am more focused on the right fit than hitting an exact number.

💡 Tip: Always give a range. Night shift always commands more — use that confidently if applicable.

Do you have any questions for us?
      Best Questions to Ask

"What does a typical shift look like for this role?" / "What TMS version are you running?" / "What are the biggest challenges the dispatch team faces right now?" / "What does success look like in the first 90 days?" / "Is there opportunity to grow into load planning or senior dispatch?"

💡 Tip: Asking about the TMS version shows you actually know the software. Never say "No, I think you covered everything."

Transplus vs McLeod vs Axon — Which TMS for Canadian Fleets?

An honest comparison of the three most common TMS platforms used by Ontario carriers in 2026.

How to Become a Dispatcher in Ontario in 2026

The Canadian logistics industry is booming — and dispatchers are in high demand. Whether you're a career changer or a new grad, becoming a dispatcher in Ontario is one of the most accessible and well-paying career paths in the province.

      What Does a Dispatcher Do?

A dispatcher is the nerve centre of any trucking or logistics operation. You coordinate drivers, manage loads, communicate with customers, handle cross-border paperwork, and ensure shipments move on time. In larger operations, dispatchers use TMS (Transportation Management Software) like Transplus Fleet Manager to manage everything in one system.

Step 1 — Understand the Industry

Before diving into training, familiarize yourself with key terms: loads, Probills, carriers, BOL (Bill of Lading), POD (Proof of Delivery), IFTA, ACE/ACI, and ELD. Our free glossary page covers all of these in plain language.

Step 2 — Get Transplus Trained

The majority of mid-to-large Canadian carriers use Transplus Fleet Manager. Getting trained on this specific software dramatically increases your employability. Our 12-session program covers the entire platform from system setup to go-live.

Step 3 — Build Your Resume

Include your Transplus training certificate, any logistics-related experience (even customer service counts), and software skills. Mention specific tools: DAT, Loadlink, Borderconnect, Farrow, Power BI.

      Step 4 — Apply Strategically

Target carriers in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area — Brampton, Mississauga, Milton, and Cambridge are logistics hubs with hundreds of carriers hiring dispatchers year-round. Look for afterhours and overnight roles — competition is lower and pay is often higher.

Average Dispatcher Salaries in Ontario (2026)

      • Entry-level dispatcher: $40,000 - $52,000/year
      • Experienced dispatcher: $55,000 - $72,000/year
      • Afterhours / Night dispatch: $60,000 - $80,000/year
      • Load planner / Senior dispatcher: $75,000 - $95,000/year

Transplus Fleet Manager — Complete Beginner Guide

Transplus Fleet Manager is one of the most widely used Transportation Management Systems (TMS) in Canada. If you're joining a carrier that uses Transplus — or training to become a dispatcher — this guide gives you a solid foundation before your first session.

      What is Transplus Fleet Manager?

Transplus is a full-featured TMS built specifically for Canadian carriers. It handles order entry, dispatch management, driver payroll, fuel imports, customer invoicing, cross-border manifests (ACE/ACI), IFTA reporting, and more — all in one system.

      Key Modules You'll Use Daily

      Fleet Manager (Dispatch Board)

The heart of Transplus. This is where you create orders, assign drivers, track loads, and manage your entire dispatch board. You'll spend most of your time here.

      Data Maintenance

Where you set up and maintain your customers, carriers, drivers, trucks, trailers, and freight items. Think of this as the master database that feeds everything else.

      Trip Processing

After a load is delivered, you process the trip here — confirming PODs, creating driver pay records, and preparing for invoicing.

ACE & ACI Cross-Border Dispatch Explained

Cross-border freight between Canada and the United States requires electronic customs filing before the shipment crosses the border. In Canada, this means ACE and ACI — two systems that every cross-border dispatcher must understand.

      What is ACE?

ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) is the US Customs and Border Protection system. When a Canadian carrier is delivering freight into the United States, the dispatcher must file an ACE manifest through Transplus before the truck crosses the border. This electronically notifies US Customs of the shipment details — driver, truck, trailer, and cargo.

      What is ACI?

ACI (Advance Commercial Information) is the Canadian equivalent — managed by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). When a US carrier or a Canadian carrier returning from the US is bringing freight into Canada, an ACI manifest must be filed. The filing deadline is typically 1 hour before arrival at the Canadian border for highway shipments.

What Information Do You Need to File?

      • Driver's license number, passport, and FAST card number
      • Truck and trailer plate numbers and VINs
      • Carrier SCAC code and bond number
      • Shipper and consignee information
      • Commodity description, weight, and value
      • Port of entry

      Common Mistakes to Avoid

      • Filing too close to border crossing time — always file well in advance
      • Missing or incorrect FAST card numbers — causes border delays
      • Wrong port of entry selected in Transplus
      • Driver documentation not updated in Data Maintenance
